Bug Repellent PVC

In the Northern Hemisphere the days are getting longer and hints of spring are starting to appear. With the warmer weather comes more life – specifically bugs. Insects can be a major problem especially for food processors. You do not want a safety inspector to see flies crawling all over the food you are packing!

In those facilities you will find PVC strip doors, allowing for ease of access for employees and equipment. Redco™ offers ano-fly specialty anti-insect PVC curtain to help you keep the bugs out. The material repels insects in three properties:

1.) Thermal Insulation – by helping trap heat the bugs are less likely to be attracted to warmer areas beyond the screen.

2.) Sight Inhibition – The specific yellow hue obscures the insect’s vision.

3.) Citronella Scent– repels insects from the door opening.

The citronella oil is impregnated within the PVC itself and releases a lemongrass scent many people find pleasant. The material comes in two standard roll sizes 8” x 0.080” x 300 ft and 12” x 0.120” x 200 ft. The properties of the material are not degraded by the additions of the oil and the tinting, meaning the material provides only benefits vs. regular PVC curtain.
